G’ Day Mates! I’m here, on this day, to not only pad for time, but have a quick discussion about what’s happening for the next two days, as well as, something that’s been on my mind. First off, the schedule for the next few days is as follows: Thursday: a brand new review and editorial, Wednesday: the final election article, and a brand new Society Smash. Now, onto the problem at hand. If you frequent the site, you’ve no doubt seen my editorial last week on circumcision, and why people (specifically Intactivists), get worked up about it for no reason. That’s why (taking a break from YouTube videos) I’m going to be discussing the picture that I tagged along with that article which, if you can’t see it posted directly below this paragraph, reads “Intact: thanks Mom and Dad!”. I’m not sure how this even got on the internet (with today’s PC culture and whatnot) considering the statement is not only hatemongering, but sexist too. Please, allow me to explain: First off, you know when the person who designed this definitely had hate speech in mind. Much like many of the other characters who’ve we seen so far on my blog (Vegan Gains, George Carlin, Onision, etc.) the purpose of creating this graphic was not to pose a question, or even really make a statement, just piss people off. I mean, right? What kind of sentence is that anyway? “Intact: thanks Mom and Dad!”. Every time I read it, I imagine a rich kid bragging about his money: “I’m loaded: thanks for being rich Pops!” Then again, maybe it’s just me. However, you have to agree that, circumcised or not, the statement, in and of itself, is very sexist. Why? For starters, sexism is any form of discrimination made against someone based on their sex, sexual preferences, or sexual features. Just like it’s not proper to call someone a slut, or a faggot, or make fun of their boobs, it is not proper to insult someone for being circumcised, not to mention it is just plain rude. As we discussed in the previous article, there is really no major pros or cons to the practice, so why make it sound like it’s some sort of plague. The image in question uses the word intact, as if the surgery is leaving you without an arm or leg. “The foreskins intact,” I imagine the general on the battlefield saying, “you surpassed man’s greatest trial!” Imagine if you swapped out “intact”, for something else. “I’m White: Thanks Mom and Dad!”, “I’m Not Gay: Thanks Mom and Dad!” Imagine how many people would lose their shit over that, but then again, that’s hypocrisy in action. Furthermore, doing an image search for “intactivist”, you’ll no doubt see hundreds upon thousands of graphics just like this one, dooming to hell all those who have been touched by medical science, like an inquisitor from medieval Europe. Here are just a few more I found in five minutes of searching: Anguish? Get a life, freaks! Yes, because without it your son won’t be able to survive. Newsflash, idiot. The whole human body contains blood vessels Complete. Idiot. Thanks for your service, Ryan. Want to go down to Iraq for us next? If you go in even further, you soon find out that most of these people who are in support of foreskins are the same kind of people in the 60s who smoked drugs, had sex all the time, and sold their souls to rock and roll: Liberals. What I find hard to believe, is that most liberals are deeply offended by the concept of circumcision (where a small piece of skin is removed), but are absolutely ok with abortion (the ACTUAL killing of a baby). Double standards, much? Anyway, that’s just my thoughts on the matter.
Thanks reading everyone! My main point is this: who cares? Sorry to leave all my loyal fans off with a shorter article today, but don’t you worry! As mentioned before, I still have four more articles coming up this week, so I wouldn’t worry one bit! See you tomorrow! PS, don’t forget to leave your thoughts down below (or perhaps leave a like, it really helps)! |
