In Hillary's Defense - Editorial

Not the best choice, but then again, it's up for debate.

I’m not left or right in a political sense, at least that’s what I think. I personally Identify as a meritocrat, and essentially believe that people should be judged based on their actions, people should earn things fairly, and that people who have done so should get to keep all the rewards for doing it. Keep this in mind during this article; because I’m by no means a supporter of Mrs. Clinton, whom ran for president this year, however, I would like to take this time to fight in her defense, because nobody else seems to be doing so.

G’ Day Mates! The election last month is still having massive ripple effects on the world, and “shitposts” that I thought would have ended, or at least died down by this point (and rendering this article unnecessary) would be of the distant past. There’s no lying that the announcement a few days after the votes were tallied was, difficult. People freakishly chanting in the streets and schools to represent both sides (most people forget that) may be of the recent past, but the discussion is not. So, what about it? Why do I defend Hillary, the so called “Witch of Wall Street” by some?

For starters, in this article here, where, after about four hours or so of research, I compiled a complete political analysis of the former into a Cam Lev “special” for you all to read. In this article, we learned that Hillary Clinton has had political experience since the 1960’s, and has been involved in lots of scandals, most of which have little definitive evidence. She seemed to be a shoe-in for the presidency, as I this other article I wrote here largely predicted a Clinton victory. She had been leading in virtually all the polls that could be tallied since last year, with Trump seemingly posing little threat. But, as we all know, thing didn’t work out that way. This may not be the first time that the majority winner lost to the electoral winner, but I think a lot of people aren’t seeing why that bothers others, mainly Republicans.

I don’t support the rioters, but every time I see another hardcore Republican blogger or otherwise, call out the “crybaby” liberals for wanting, I don’t know, an experienced, not sexist/racist president, I die a little inside. To keep myself from rambling further, I’m going to finish off this article with a list of some of the huge points as to why people still support Clinton or at the very least, not support Trump, to help those that may still be confused as to why people do so:

  • The Loudness: Like it or not, Mr. Trump, the president elect, is very loud. We’ve seen time and time again that he has trouble keeping a lid on his temper, and a lot of people aren’t ok with that. Want some proof? Just look up every debate he has appeared in during this cycle, and he stands out among the rest, good or bad, as the most open and honest candidate of them all. He has no problem laying out his exact plans for what he wants to do, which is open, honest, and good. However, he could learn to tone down the insults when it comes to sexist and racist comments, which he’s known for. Mrs. Clinton may come across as more secretive and sneaky, but at least she can keep a lid on it.
  • The Experience: Trump knows what he’s doing when it comes to the economy. You don’t just get $4 billion by doing jack shit, and in his defense, a million dollars isn’t a very big loan when it comes to developing real estate in New York. However, a quick visit to the articles I mentioned above reveals that Hillary is vastly more experienced and is way better-rounded that Donald could ever hope to be, at least at his age. The economy may make or break our nation’s success, but it’s not the only thing that he needs to be good at. Backtracking to the racist and sexist comments from the previous bullet, most people assume that Trump has been living in the past, and hasn’t updated his social policy in some 20 years or so. Understandable, seeing how footage of Trump saying questionable things on film was coming up just as fast as Hillary’s emails, right up till election day. Whether or not those convictions are grounded in reality, Hillary definitely seemed like a better candidate in the social department for some.
  • The Racism: I’ll be only briefly touching on these next points, as I mentioned them a lot previously, but to summarize once again: Trump has said some questionable things. It might not be justified, but it should be a bit concerning that “build the wall” videos were trending on YouTube a couple weeks ago. An entire race of people, specifically Hispanics, should not be afraid that they could be hauled off to some other country because of their origin. I’m not pointing fingers, but it’s something to keep in mind.
  • The Sexism: Furthermore, have you seen any of the reactions some people are having over the win? Most of them are young girls in their teens, whom you can see have genuine concern, and ever fear, for the next four years of their lives. The comments may be a bit old now, but Trump has definitely said some questionable things in the past, and even though I’ve said that a lot already in this post, it doesn’t make it any less true. To wrap it up, there are a lot of people who don’t think a man who’s supposed to represent the land of the free, should have made comments calling women “pigs”, and such, even if it was a long time ago.
  • The Extremes: Build the Wall! Trumps favorite three words amongst others. There’s no doubt quite a few things Don threw around to draw attention to himself during his campaign. In another article I wrote here, it becomes evident once again that, Hillary Clinton might be quite, reserved, and a bit creepy, Trumps greatest weakness is his mouth, by far. You can spent days questioning if Mrs. Clinton rigged the DNC or not, but what you can’t deny is that (at one point), Donald Trump said he would date his own daughter, that most Mexicans were criminals, and that he was going to ban all foreign cars coming into the country.
  • The Attacks: Some of the most memorable (and “meemable” things) form the debates where the insults he threw out at others. Attacks against Lindsey Graham were among the most inappropriate, where Donald encouraged an audience at one of his rallies to spam-call her phone and lock it up. Whether or not the attack was effective (hell, Trump wasn’t even sure if it was her number), there are tone of people, both regular citizens, and professional social and news commentators, who think these attacks showed Donald Trump’s unprofessionalism.

Thanks for reading everyone! Please, if you liked or disliked the post, feel free to leave some feedback down below, but before you do, remember this: I’m not playing for or against anyone. The point of this article was to showcase some reasoning as to why some people might not be huge fans of the future president, because as I always say, not everything’s a difference between black and white. With that said, please feel free to respond down below, and I’ll see you in a few days for another election post, then it’ll be back to our regularly scheduled content. Ciao!
