I'm Back! (State of the Blog)

G’ Day Mates! It’s Cam Levengood here, and I just wanted to give a quick update on a few new systems I’m going to be implementing soon, and possibly offer an explanation as to why I’ve been off and on in my studies. It’s been a few days… months now, although I had originally planned on taking a much shorter hiatus. Either way, I’m back now and am looking forward to getting into the work cycle again. So, for before I explain myself, let’s talk about some of the new things I plan on doing to enhance and reorganize my content.
As I mentioned in my end of the year report, I had originally planned on reinstating Levengood Today as a full-time series to my content lineup, and I do plan on carrying out this goal, but as of now it has taken a back seat to another goal I have for this site’s future. I am currently considering switching from my current hosting provider, that is, the site that I use to upload and publish my content, and want to see what the tools of the new, theoretical provider could do. I’m considering a new, streamlined format to organize all of the different content of my blog under three series titles: Cam Lev Show, Levengood Today, and Society Smash.

Cam Lev Show would be a new category that “reviews”, “articles”, “editorials”, and the like would go under. Essentially, this would be the blog where I talk about what I want to talk about, what’s on my mind, and what I think is deserving of attention: it would be where you hear my opinion on issues of my choosing. Levengood Today would, in stark contrast to the Cam Lev Show, would be for issues of the world’s choosing. This is where the two series, “Levengood Today”, and “Cam Reacts” would fall under, since the both focused on the news, events, and pop culture of the day (although sometimes we do get a bit off track with Cam Reacts). Society Smash, my occasional, broad topics series that focuses on futurism pieces, as well as huge, worldwide issues, such as the proper use of AI, will now grow to include the “Cam Lev Specials” in its lineup (even though there are only three now), as well as any other series that I can think up, with a focus on large scale issues, that require a lot of research and writing to create.
As for the process of creating new series, and deciding which articles should be published under which of these new categories, I’ll be using the following criteria:

  • Cam Lev Show (the blog for me) – social commentary, heavy opinion pieces, reviews, editorials
    • is a BROAD and SUBJECTIVE topic
    • is primarily driven by MY opinion
    • is largely written based on my PERSONAL preference
  • Levengood Today (for other people)– current event reports, light opinion pieces, culture reactions
    • is a SPECIFIC topic, issue, event, or otherwise
    • is driven by either MY and/or OUTSIDE opinion on the matter, in some cases
    • Is largely written based on POPULAR opinion, or response to the content
  • Society Smash (for all of us) – big issues, future predictions, critical analyses, political discussion
    • is a BROAD and OBJECTIVE topic
    • is NOT dependent on my or any opinion, except for prospective.
    • is largely written based on PERSONAL preference and POPULAR thought

Now, depending on who you are, you might think it odd that I don’t link to the different categories that I brought up so far (especially if you don’t know what I mean by “article” or “Cam Reacts”), but I do so knowing that, depending on which provider I use, or rather, will decide to use this coming May, may completely change the linking parameters, resulting in 404 errors for everyone, so I’d rather not do that, to be completely honest. As for the hosting provider I plan on using, I’d rather not say at this time, since I’m not really sure exactly which one I’ll use, but as the blog grows, and more people get curious, maybe up in the FAQs.

As for why I was gone, since I trust you all, my viewers, to hear me out (especially since I don’t have the data of an audience yet), but to cut it short: I’m... lacking in discipline. I haven’t been writing at all for the past month now because I’ve gotten into a bad habit of procrastinating, which, as you probably know, BREEDS laziness and plentiful quantities. Don’t expect this to persist for much longer though, because, I mean, not to bolster anything but: I think I finally found the solution to the problem. I know the only way to regain your trust (or whatever trust I had with you, my lovely audience) is to show you, which is why I plan on putting writing, at the top of my list of things to do (right after staying alive). I don’t have much else to say at this point, I just had to get back out there, and start going again. I mean, today alone, I’ve written almost 2000 words, and plan on writing another thousand or so to catch up on my book, and as long as I keep this up for a week or so, the habit of writing should reaffirm itself into my daily routine, and become, you guessed it, routine, once again.

Thanks for reading everyone! I don’t have many readers yet, but hopefully anyone that I’ve got will stick around to see these changes take effect. Also, ESPECIALLY for this article, please let me know what you think about my plans down in the comments below, and if you’re supportive, please give me as many likes possible (that way I know its good)! Once again, thanks for reading, and please…

Don’t touch that dial!
