Sanders and Clinton (Politics)
As the primaries for the US election, 2016, come to a close, Bernie Sanders, a democratic senator, has just recently made it very clear that he will not be endorsing Hilary Clinton, the democratic secretary of state; even though it is likely she will win the party nomination. He says that even though he will probably loose, he is still going to continue to fight to better his party as a whole, after receiving the offer to quit his campaign and endorse Clinton. After a face to face meeting with her, Sanders said, he wants to help with party leadership as a whole, and that he wants to change up the primary process to allow independents in on the action, who are mostly forgotten during the election due to their inability to participate.
Supposedly, on Thursday night, Senator Sanders will be meeting with his supporters to discuss plans for the future. Not much happened in the political sphere today, as a result of the Orlando shooting, everyone is either paying respects, calling to action, or hating on those “filthy Muslims” (Trump). One thing that Obama, Clinton, Sanders, and the whole Democratic Party can all agree on: Trump definitely needs to get his act together if he wants to win. For more on this, check out these articles: (The Hill, Washington Post) I do think that disasters like this show the human side of these politicians, though, whom many assume are all heartless to begin with. Even in dark times, we’re still reminded that are leaders, and potential leaders, can be overtaken by darkness too, as they can show there true selves.
E3 Tomorrow (Gaming)
I had some things I wanted to talk about today pertaining to E3, however I have decided to postpone them until tomorrow, but this is your official notification: expect a more in depth look at this subject on tomorrows Levengood Today.
Facebook Upgrades/ Predictions (Technology)
Facebook messenger, it seems, will soon have the ability to not only handle Facebook messages, but also standard SMS (text) messages, as well. It’s been in development for quite a while, and recently began its testing phase. However, sources suggest that Facebook will be able to read your texts on their servers, provided you use the app, which could be troublesome for some people. But does any of that even matter. According to Quartz, Facebook is already predicated that it will END THE WRITTEN WORD. Nicola Mendelsohn, one of the heads of Facebook's operations, predicts that in about 5 years, Facebook will be all video and no more words, saying that it is much easier, and greater to express one’s self in video and speech. As a writer myself, I have to argue that that is not always the case. For me, it is much easier to “speak” my mind, (so to speak), in word form rather than in video, voice, person, image, or in any other way, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Big Brother Houseguests (Entertainment)
For fans of reality TV, and game shows, chances are that you’ve heard of Big Brother, CBS’ reality TV that’s been going on and delighting audiences since the 90s with drama, competition, and backstabbing. Some new faces will be on the roster, as well as, some faces that look familiar. That is because they are related to previous houseguests. Could this be part of an elaborate twist in the game which its foundation is usually built upon? It wouldn’t surprise me, but since Big Brother will premier in a couple of weeks, we won’t have to wait long to find out...
That’s it for today. Hope you enjoyed. As previously mentioned, I’ll be talking more about E3 tomorrow, as well as, some more entertainment news, which will be revealed later. If you haven’t already checked it out, just an hour ago, I released a new editorial, which you can read here. What’s the difference between TV and TV? Find out!
