Baghdad Bombings (Wartime) (CNN)
In yet another case in the Middle East recently, a terrorist attack was carried out, injuring civilians, response personnel and officials. A suicide bomb car in Baghdad killed an estimated 125 people in a shopping district. A second bomb went off later in the day in the southeast of the city, killing one more person, and injuring five. ISIS openly claims responsibility for the attacks.
Allstate Pays $27 Million (Business) (UPI)
Former Allstate employees were rewarded a large sum of money, after a court case against the major insurance company. They were originally fired in 2009, supposedly for altering “trimming trades” within the company to boost their profit gain. Lawyers who defended the employee’s eventually won the case over a period of about two days, after five hours of deliberation.
Attack on Clinton (Politics) (Huffington Post)
Donald Trump recently tweeted very racist imagery of Hilary Clinton against a background of raining money, with a Star of David reading “most corrupt cantata ever”. Considering Trumps relations with Jewish people, and his family, which is partially Jewish, it is unknown exactly why he made this offensive attack. He has received numerous attacks and backlash since Saturday when it was posted.
Trumps Unlikely Support (Politics) (CNN)
After many Republican supporters from the party refuse to attend the Republican National Convention as Trump supporters, the businessman is now looking for replacements to fill the slots at the speaking portion of the event. He has recently started turning to sports icons, family members, and businessmen that he is friends with. He confirmed Friday that his wife and children will be present and speaking, as well.
Walmart App (Business) (The Verge)
Many Walmart stores are now offering the ability to pay for goods using the stores official app at their physical locations. The service is close to rolling out nationwide, and is already popular, as many customers at the store already used the app regularly.
Google Phones (Technology) (BGR)
Google is going to be launching two new phones onto the market, the HTC Sailfish, and Marlin, the successor to last years failed Nexus phones. Details were released about the two phones, come to find out that they were both very similar, except for one of the two being larger with a better resolution.
Trump Super Villain (Culture) (Fortune)
A recently published comic by Marvel supposedly published a comic with Trump in it. MODAAK, a character in the book, appears to be heavily inspired by Trump, with similar facial feature, and an agenda to become “Americas King”, or president, if you will.
